Terrariums are available for purchase only to residents within the Washington, D.C. area. Each one is made-to-order and delivered by-hand by founder Holley Simmons.

Terrariums come with a detailed care instruction card and Sill Life contact information for any future maintenance quandaries.

The Annie - $30

The Annie comes in a teardrop-shaped glass container filled with cascading ivy and plush moss. It is suspended by a knotted rope that dangles from your ceiling with the help of a screw in hook (included).

MEASUREMENTS: 25 inches long, not including the plant, the length of which will vary.

Care Instructions

Great for budding plant enthusiasts, the Annie is a very self-sufficient terrarium. It requires minimal care and can survive in rooms with low-to-moderate sunlight. A North- or East-facing room is ideal.

The Audrey - $40

An unexpected way to add greenery to your space, the Audrey comes in a glass bowl filled with a variety of three healthy succulents, foraged moss, specially formulated soil and rocks.

Most succulents are grown in greenhouses or shipped from the West Coast. However, these succulents are grown within D.C., so they’re acclimated to the climate and will thrive in the environment.

MEASUREMENTS: 4.75 inches tall, 5.5 inch diameter.

The Audrey is an ideal terrarium for the forgetful gardener. Succulents are very resilient and need minimal care. The Audrey prefers direct sunlight, and likes to be in South- or West-facing windows.

The Katie - $50

Slightly larger than the Audrey, the Katie brings life to bookshelves, coffee tables, dressers and any other surface. The Katie comes in a glass bowl filled with mid-sized succulents, foraged moss, specially formulated soil and rocks.

Measurements: 6 inches tall, 8 inch diameter.

The Larkin - $75

The Larkin comes in a beveled glass container filled with two succulents, plush moss, rocks and an adornment. Multi-faceted and beautiful from any angle, the geometric shape is a modern upgrade to the traditional terrarium bowl.

MEASUREMENTS: 5.5″ wide x 7″ deep x 7″ high

The Larkin is an ideal terrarium for the forgetful gardener. Succulents are very resilient and need minimal care. The Larkin prefers direct sunlight, and likes to be in South- or West-facing windows.

The Rosemary - $75

The Rosemary is a closed terrarium filled with leafy, moisture-loving plants like ferns,peperomia and nerve plants; foraged moss and lichen; found twigs; pond pebbles; and soil.

The Rosemary comes in a glass apothecary jar, mimicking terrariums popular during the Victorian era.

Measurements: 16 inches tall (including lid), 5 inch diameter.

Care Instructions

The most hands-off of the Sill Life offerings, the Rosemary requires very little care.

Because the lid traps moisture, this terrarium hardly ever needs to be watered.

Place your terrarium in direct to in-direct sunlight. South- and West-facing windows are preferred.

The Mallory - Custom price

The Mallory is Sill Life’s “wild card” option. Tell me your budget and desired aesthetic, and I’ll build something completely custom.

Vessels may include vintage tea tins, Mason jars, silver serving dishes or cigar boxes. It’s up to you!
